Social Media / Virtual World

I am on a lot of sites but the major ones are:

Facebook: I use Facebook so much, my phone service is almost useless. I use Facebook messaging to message friends instead of my phone.

YouTube: Used to be my number 1 site as I spent hours of video making and editing for my YouTube channel getting 4million+ views. After this semester started, my channel went from 30-50k views a day to only 4k views a day. It really sucks for me because I had a chance to get very popular with the gaming movies I make. I still could, maybe after this crazy hard semester.

I have twitter but I barely use it, I just tweet once in a while to advertise my own YouTube videos.

I also visit sites like Imgur and Reddit to see what’s funny on the internet for the day as every day there is so much new content. Reddit also seems to be a good place to get your REAL news unlike most corrupted media corps.

A virtual world is like a simulation of the real world. People can have discussion and chats and all kinds of interactions just like real life. They can represent themselves with avatars. There are groups of people, businesses, and companies using this way to do things and it could make things easier.

The article “Going to the virtual office in Second Life" talks about how IBM used the the virtual world for meeting, it is definitely something that has helped them. Using these virtual worlds companies save a lot of time and money and are able to communicate with coworkers throughout the world.

The article “When Writing Digitally, Nobody Knows you’re a Duck" the writer talks about how a computer user in the virtual environment can portray himself however he wishes. This gives equality for people with social or physical disabilities. I think this is very good as a lot of people do not talk as much in real but on computer they could.

I think virtual world is something to look forward to, it helps companies communicate in an easy and fast yet efficient way and also gives equality to all people including people with social and physical disabilities.
